Is there a daily waiting period that doesn’t allow for certain activities after dosing? What is the reasoning behind the reduced exercise activity after treatment food dosing?

Patients are asked to observe a reduced activity period of 60 minutes after dosing Treatment foods to help mitigate any potential adverse effects.

When your child eats a food to which they are allergic, their system will release histamine. This may cause a localized reaction, like slight itchiness. When this is combined with an elevated heart rate (as a result of increased activity), the blood will circulate faster, causing the histamine to spread through the body. Safety is always our number one priority and our goal is to keep reactions at a minimum. As such, patients are asked to observe a reduced activity period of 60 minutes after dosing treatment foods to help mitigate any potential adverse effects.

During Launch: Launch day 1, a patch that contains physical food allergens will be placed on your child's back. This enclosed patch will remain on your child's back for 24 hours. This allows us to assess how your child's GI tract reacts to various allergens. Please keep the patch clean and dry, avoiding bathing, heavy activity, or sweating during the test.

During treatment: Maintenance foods are usually taken daily in the morning. Recommended foods, such as fruits and legumes that share similar proteins to your child’s allergens, should be dosed in the afternoon as a snack, generally 3-5 times a week. Treatment foods are generally dosed daily in the evening and followed by a 60-minute rest period.
